3rd Match in this year's Winter League and we were at Partridge Lakes on Marsh Canal. The weather started overcast with no breeze and a relatively mild 8 degrees. However through the course of the day the breeze got up and there was a sharp windchill.
18 brave members turned out to fish the match. But it has to be said that fish were scarce with five members returning a 'DNW' (did not weigh), at the other extreme Phil Clare romped home in first place on peg 22 (end peg) with 26lb 5oz, the next best weight was 7lb 10oz at the other end peg (Peg 3) by Mike Lewis.
Both Bill and Roly (aka Paul Rolands) managed to do some gardening whilst there, we noticed a nice pile of twigs and reeds behind both members at the end of the match!
Roly also had the pleasure of the Golden Peg and it's now famous curse, which continues on as he finished a reputable 3rd, but not enough to get the £200 Golden Peg.

Next match is the Fur & Feather on the Bridgewater Canal on 8th December, this will show who the hardy souls are! Hope to see you there......
